Tuned In Music Therapy is a brand new practice offering group and individual music therapy services within 20 miles of Providence, Rhode Island beginning in January 2025.
We are board certified music therapists, and also certified in Neurologic Music Therapy™.
We offer telehealth for those who cannot attend in-person appointments, but we find that music therapy just "works better" in person.
We aim for our sessions to be filled with joy for all involved, while also seriously addressing patient health outcomes.
We provide live instrumental/vocal music that is flexible & reactive to client/patient needs from moment to moment.
We strive to learn the music that is most important to our clients/patients.
We supply instruments, movement props, and sound amplification as necessary.
We are trained to use techniques such as Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation™ and Melodic Intonation Therapy to assess and treat various symptoms of stroke, TBI, etc.
We can collaborate with other disciplines (PT, SLP, teachers, doctors, etc).
We can share reports of assessments, treatment goals, interventions, and outcomes if requested.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar clinic as of this time.
We do not offer Licensed Mental Health Counseling.
Groups
Senior Wellness Group: focus on movement, mood, memory, & cognition, especially Alzheimer's / dementia symptoms
Pre-school or Kindergarten Social Skills group: focus on social skills, impulse control, sustaining attention, body awareness & regulation, sensory integration, & learning about the world around us. All abilities welcome!
Group size should be limited to 15 participants to maintain its therapeutic nature.

Music therapy is covered by some insurers as a rehabilitative service if deemed medically necessary & ordered by a physician (ask your doctor)!
